The Shared Table
The Shared Table is an innovative online meal support training program for carers which has been funded by the LINK Innovation Fund, Metro North Hospital and Health Service. Partner organisations include Queensland Eating Disorder Service (QuEDs), Eating Disorders Queensland (EDQ) and the Child and Youth Mental Health Services Eating Disorder Program (CHYMS EDP).
This training has been designed to assist carers in the provision of meal support. It includes information about the stages of meal support, communication skills, setting rules, boundaries and non-negotiables, and provides an in-depth look at the role nutrition plays in recovery.
If your loved one is currently engaged in treatment, we strongly encourage you to advise your treatment team that you are completing this training. This training is not intended to replace any advice provide specifically to you and your loved one by your treating team.
If you have any questions or concerns as you move through this training, please talk with your treatment team or contact a Carer Coach at Eating Disorders Queensland firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Shared Table training is not dependent upon your loved one’s age as the fundamental concepts of meal support are valid across all age groups.
